Chartres (June 1)

After the intensity of the labyrinth it was time for breakfast.  I also caught up on all my postcard writing.
My view as I was sipping my coffee.
Old buildings have such detail - each curl of the fence around the cathedral has these little flowers.
This 24 hour clock was added to the cathedral in 1520 - there are 48 rays of light to represent each half hour.
There are garden beds in front of the cathedral with herbs like rosemary and mint, and lavender of course.
 A sun dial.
Nearby.
So pleased that it can go..
Gorgeous vignette.
