Thanks for the helpful comments Suzanne - forgot about the socks!  Made lots of phone calls today - I can suspend my medibank private premiums while away - yay!!  More money in the coffers - it all helps.  Have laid my travelling outfit out and the bag is now definitely getting heavier....For some reason 30Kg was listed on the ticket as the weight allowance - have done some checking - nope - it's 20Kg plus 7Kg for carry on.
