Jardin des Tuileries (May 2)

Leading off the place de la Concorde via large black and gold gates, are these lovely gardens.  They're so full of history, but are an everyday place for the locals to unwind.
More modern sculpture can be found here too.   Standing Woman, Lachaise -
 Standing Figure, de Kooning.
A little ramp and shelter has been built for the ducks and their babies.
For 2 euros, you can rent one of these toy sailboats for half an hour.
For 0 euros, you can watch kids and parents and grandparents having a ball - and it's just bits of wood and fabric.
I think one of the things I love about Paris is that there are sightlines everywhere.  Looking back the way I'd come, I saw the obelisk in the place and the Arc de Triomphe just beyond.
